Fun lore-drop: There was a period of about 5 years where I ran away from music to pursue a career in real estate/financial advising. But before doing that, I actually had written an opera back in 2016-17. After all that time away, yaboi finally, on August 17th, 2025, got some cool people to join me in performing a 75-minute Proof of Concept at Arts on Site in NYC. These are those cool people:

Owen Lunsford

COP

OWEN LUNSFORD grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where they danced with the Columbus Dance Theater’s Training Program. From there, Owen travelled to NYC and obtained a BFA in dance from Marymount Manhattan College. While at Marymount, they performed in works by Nathan Trice, Tito Del Saz, Dylan Pierce, and Bill T Jones. Owen is currently working with the Alison Cook Beatty Dance company as an apprentice. Holden Turner

HOLDEN TURNER, a Baritone from Rochester, NY, was most recently seen as the title role in Buffalo Opera Unlimited’s production of Joshua’s Boots. A recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Holden was a Vocal Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Festival for the Summer of 2024 and has been seen in numerous productions with the Eastman Opera Theatre. He has also been a featured soloist with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Finger Lakes Opera, Rochester Oratorio Society, Eastman Wind Ensemble, Eastman Philharmonia, Eastman-Rochester Chorus, Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, and many more groups throughout NYS and outside of it. Mr. Turner has worked with many artists ranging from Jon Batiste to Dawn Upshaw and Andris Nelsons. He is also a recipient of the Rochester Links Organization's "Young Black & Gifted" Scholarship, The William Warfield Scholarship, and has received a proclamation from the Monroe County Legislature in Rochester, NY.

Samuel Ford

SAMUEL FORD is a passionate vocalist whose musical journey has taken him from high school musicals to national stages. As a tenor with the 78th Army Band, he’s performed across the country — including on live TV and alongside country music star Craig Morgan. With roots in choral, jazz, opera, and gospel music, Samuel’s voice reflects both technical skill and deep soul. Whether performing in a choir or as a soloist, he brings warmth, spirit, and sincerity to every note.


 

Maddie Burnett

-MADDIE BURNETT originally from BC, Canada, studied in the Ailey School’s Scholarship Program before becoming a member of Graham2 in 2018. There she performed principal and soloist roles in The Owl and the Pussycat (Pussycat), Diversion of Angels (Woman in Yellow), El Penitente (Mary), and more. She is now in her fourth season with Alison Cook Beatty Dance as a Core Member, and has performed with the company across NY, CT, MA, TN, and NJ. Madelaine has been featured in Dance International Magazine and Global Canada for her work with ACBD, including her role in Echoes of War and her performance in BC to NYC, a solo production raising funds for cancer research. Madelaine is also the featured dancer at House of Spirits NYC and a member of the Taylor Outreach Ensemble. She is a Royal Academy of Dance certified ballet teacher and holds her Graham teaching certification from the Martha Graham School. IG: @maddsthebads 


 

Rayan Lecurieux-Durival

Born, raised, and trained in South American French Guyana, RAYAN LECURIEUX-DURIVAL relocated to Paris to join the Institut de Formation with Rick Odums. He has since worked with Christopher Huggins, Bill T Jones, Jennifer Muller, Jamel Gaines, Francesca Harper, Norbert De la Cruz III, and many more. He has also performed with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Martha Graham Dance Company, Parsons Dance, Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet, Collage Dance Collective, Buglisi Dance Theatre, and Jennifer Mullet/The Work. Rayan has been a guest artist with Alison Cook Beatty Dance since January 2025.

Ava Trochiano

AVA TROCHIANO is from New Jersey, where she began her dance training at The Academy of Dance Arts. Her training also includes The Juilliard School, American Ballet Theatre, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, Ballet Hispánico, Martha Graham, Paul Taylor, and BalletX. She graduated summa cum laude from the Ailey/Fordham BFA program with a minor in communications in 2024. Ava has placed and advanced to finals at Youth American Grand Prix. In 2022, Ava performed in the Ailey Spirit Gala at Lincoln Center and in Alvin Ailey’s opening night gala at City Center. She also performed the lead of Alvin Ailey’s Night Creature in the Ailey School’s 2023 Spring Concert. Ava has been fortunate to work
with choreographers Jennifer Archibald, Yin Yue, and Amy Hall Garner, and studied under Ana Marie Forsythe, Renee Robinson, Clifton Brown, and Jacqulyn Buglisi. 


 

Ioanna Ioannides

IOANNA IOANNIDES is from Port Washington, New York, where she began her formal dance training at Berest Dance Center. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA from Adelphi University with a major in Dance and minors in French and Psychology. Ioanna has performed works by Orion Duckstein, Martita Goshen, and Paul Taylor. She is also a passionate dance teacher. Ioanna began working with Alison Cook Beatty Dance as a guest artist in 2021 and joined the Company in 2022 as a Core Member.


 

Elias Levy

Hailing from sunny Fairfield County, Connecticut, ELIAS LEVY is a classically-trained tenor with a voice that "will melt your heart" (OperaMetro). Familiar with both the musical theatre and operatic repertoires, Elias has performed in both genres with companies across Connecticut and New York. In August of 2025, Elias performed in Amadeus at the Madison Lyric Stage (Madison, CT). He holds a degree in Vocal Performance from Valley City State University and studies in the studio of Roy Mazzacane. 


 

Monica Camafreita

Cuban-American soprano MONICA CAMAFREITA has distinguished herself in a wide range of leading and character roles across the New York opera scene and beyond. In 2025, she appears as Waltraute in Wagner’s Götterdämmerung (Trilogy: AOC), and La Zia Principessa in Puccini's Suor Angelica (SAS Performing Arts Company) along with various appearances in recital. Her 2024 season included Mother Marie in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites and Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors (Opera for Earth), Miss Pinkerton in Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief, and a member of the trio in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti (SAS). She was featured as a soloist in Argento’s Miss Manners on Music, Monteverdi’s Vespers 1610 (Orchestra Nexus), and in the Latin American recital, Angelitos Negros (MORE Opera). Previous credits include the title role in Puccini's Suor Angelica with Varna International Festival, and roles with Regina Opera, Eurasia Festival, Brooklyn Opera Works, New York Lyric Opera Theater, United Nations Orchestra, and New York Opera Forum. A graduate of Manhattan School of Music, she is fluent in Spanish, English, French, and Italian. She also plays the violin.
